Bandweaver fiber optic linear temperature detection systems is specially designed for fire detection applications. In the cases where the conventional cable type temperature detection systems remain insufficient, it can detect over longer cable distances with the advantage provided by the fiber optic communication. It can monitor a temperature change of 1°C with an accuracy of 1 m along the cable.
The ability of properly detecting fire over long distances and in harsh environments is a problem that the conventional systems cannot overcome. Bandweaver is the leading of the most suitable solutions for the areas difficult to protect with its high reliability, error-free fire detection and features not affected by the environmental factors.
The Bandweaver Fire Laser DTS Unit is a central sensor evaluation unit capable of detecting the temperature at any point within the linear space along the fiber optic sensor cable connected to it. Fiber optic detection cable with 4 channel outputs and up to the maximum length of 4 x 10 km or 2 x 10 km can be connected. By this means, temperature, temporal temperature increase, maximum temperatures and temperature differences are continuously measured and evaluated on the cable. The temperature detection technology offers a linear detection solution that is much superior than the conventional copper or multipoint heat detectors.
The linear fiber optic temperature detection cable can be freely divided by software up to 1000 zones when it functions with a control panel evaluation device with a range of 10.000 m, 500 zones with a device with a range of 5.000 m, and 250 zones with a device with a range of 2.000 m. It has a 5.7'' touch LCD display, 50 programmable contact outputs and the ability of functioning when the fiber cable is disconnected.
Bandweaver has dedicated user interfaces in order to both combine, manage and visualize DTS data and integrate the other data flows. Likewise, Bandweaver can also export the data to third party systems and networks. The examples of some of the interfaces with which Bandweaver functions are:
The fiber optic detection cable is completely passive and based on standard telecommunication fiber. As the standard fiber configuration for temperature detection, two independent 62.5/125 MM (Multi Mode) flameproof and halogen-free insulated fiber optic cables are used because they provide outstanding performance over distances up to 10 km. It is capable of detecting both hot gases (convection energy) and reflection energy (radiation). The fiber optic temperature detection cable suitable for use in outdoors, indoors and Ex-Proof (Explosive Environment) areas can function between the temperature values of -40 °C and 125 °C. It is EN54-22 certified with its own control panel and evaluation unit and has LPCB and VdS certification.
