The spark detection and extinguishing systems are designed to prevent the burning igneous materials from reaching the protected equipment in the industrial process and to protect the production lines by reducing the risks that might be caused by the ignition sources. The system detects sparks very quickly and automatically extinguishes them without interrupting the production process. The small amount of water used as an extinguisher substantially limits any damage that might occur in the filters or other production machinery. Once the sparks or hot particles have been extinguished, the system automatically returns to the normal operating conditions and is ready to extinguish new ignition sources.
The response time of the spark detectors is only a few milliseconds. The extinguishing unit can extinguish the detected ignition sources by using only a small amount of water. In the industrial processes where water damage cannot be tolerated, on the other hand, water mist, carbon dioxide or aerosols are used as extinguishing agents. The signal router of the spark detection and extinguishing system directs and monitors the extinguishing incident in the line. The control panel, on the other hand, monitors the general status of the system and generates audible and visual alarms. In the production lines equipped with fans, the fan controller stops the fans in the case of overheating or sparking. The system continuously monitors the temperature in the line. The booster station, one of the components of the system on the extinguishing side, ensures that the water pumping pressure is correct. It prevents the formation of air pockets in the extinguishing water. The extinguishing units can be installed outdoors in cold environments by using the Atexon® temperature monitoring system.
Many industrial facilities are under the risk of fire and explosion from sparks and hot particles Some of the sectors that have this risk are as follows:
It is simple and easy to operate thanks to its user-friendly interface, large LCD display and Ethernet-based remote user interface. It has a sufficient memory to record 10.000 extinguishing incidents. Its improved bus structure significantly reduces the cabling and installation costs. With approximately 18 production zones, 54 spark detectors, 6 booster stations and connections for a wide range of different gas, flame and heat sensors, it makes it easier to protect a great variety of industrial production processes.
The purpose of the pressure boost controller is to supply extinguishing water at sufficient pressure suitable for challenging environments which may be very diverse. The integrated temperature monitoring option ensures cost-effective heating for water pipes under cold conditions without the need for further thermostats or electrical inlets.
The fan controller can be configured so as to stop the production process when an alarm is generated. The alarm thresholds are easily set through the user interface of the VR18Z control panel. A single fan controller can monitor up to six different fans and other production process machinery. Each of the VR18Z control panels can be connected to up to three fan controllers.
The V300EX spark detector ensures that the ignition sources are reliably detected from among the high-speed material flows. It has a 180-degree field of view (FOV) with no blind spots. The V300EX spark detector is suitable for industrial applications such as heating and power plants.
The dust ejection ducts are often located in confined spaces and/or near to the walls. The VMR200EX is an extremely small detector that can be installed in a small space. Due to its dimensions, it has a high resistance to vibration. The detector includes an integrated test lamp in order to test the electrical functions and the cleanliness of the lens of the counter detector pair. The test process is implemented through the control panel of the spark detection system. This feature is a significant improvement in the reliability of the system because the cleaning of a spark detector can usually be performed only manually so as to require an access platform.
The Atexon® extinguishing units are specifically designed for pneumatic conveying duct systems with air flow rates up to 40 m/s. The extinguishing units feature a quick-acting solenoid valve, filter, electronic ball valve position monitoring, flow monitoring and real-time extinguishing water temperature monitoring. The integrated water temperature monitoring is particularly useful for the outdoor installations. This feature checks that the pipe insulation and heat monitoring cable are efficient during their normal aging processes.
