The Mercedes-Benz Hadımköy Hoşdere Facilities Bus Factory, founded on an area of 360.000 sqm as the largest bus factory in Turkey exports 80% of the buses made in accordance with international standards to over 70 countries, mainly Western European countries. Hosdere Bus Factory, which has 20 years in service, employs over 3.000 workers.
EEC has been continuing its services based on trust for over 10 years, since it installed fire detection and warning systems for the Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus Factory. Mercedes has selected EEC for the renovation of its fire and alarm systems of the new buildings that it has added as its factories have grown in the course of time. Fire safety of the Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere Bus Factory is guaranteed with the retrofit application.
By considering the high volume and project design difficulties in the painting, dipping, welding and other production sections in the factory, engineering solutions unique to Mercedes were presented for the fire detection and alarm systems.
The UTC Edwards EST3 Fire Detection and Alarm Systems and the Xtralis VESDA Laser Plus active aspirating smoke detectors were chosen because Mercedes Benz, as the largest bus production factory in Europe, is an industrial facility that requires sensitive detection. The reason for selecting the VESDA VLP is that it is 400 times more sensitive than the point type fire detectors. The Edwards brand detector was used in the office buildings.
There is a cogeneration center at the Hoşdere Factory to fulfill the energy needs of the factory. The most convenient fire and security solutions were presented separately for each different area in the factory that requires high sensitivity such as assembly, painting, welding, energy center etc. Johnson Controls products were used in the humidity and temperature detection systems in the laboratory areas. Humidity and temperature values were planned to be continuously monitored and reported, with the alarms to be continuously monitored in terms of threshold values.
As the number of buildings in the factory increased, new fire and security points were added to the system and integrated into the network supported by fiber optical cables between all buildings.
