Henkel operates in the manufacturing of adhesives, cosmetics, detergents and household cleaning chemicals across the world. The Company established its first facility in Gebze in Turkey in 1963, and it was subsequently renamed as Türk Henkel, expanding and continuing its manufacturing operations in Çayırova. The Company currently operates in its facility in GEBKİM with an indoor area of 20,000 sqm on an area of 35 acres.
EEC installed the Fire Detection and Alarm, Voice Evacuation and Public Address, Access Control and CCTV systems for the Henkel Anatolia project.
Engineering, material procurement and commissioning services for the systems were completed simultaneously with the process steps of the project.
Ziton Fire Detection System was installed with different types of devices in accordance with the specific requirements of the facility and observing the environmental conditions. There are over 200 point-type detectors, approximately 70 alert buttons, 2 separate control panels with 4 loops and a repeater panel within the system.
An aspirating smoke detector was used to achieve high-sensitivity smoke detection in accordance with the production specifications of the facility. Cable type temperature detection systems were preferred in the areas, where the use of point-type detectors was not deemed suitable due to the process smoke. Considering the fire sensitivity of the areas such as the wide, high-ceiling pallet holding area, a solution was presented by using beam-type detectors. Ex-proof detectors and hydrogen detectors suitable for the risks and structural specifications of the battery rooms were installed. Due to the existence of flammable products in the warehouses containing chemicals, ex-proof flame detectors were installed.
By using temperature sensor, cable type, beam type, flame type and aspirating smoke detectors; fast and stable alternative detection solutions were implemented based on the needs of different locations of the facility.
Bosch Voice Evacuation and Public Address System was installed within the facility by using the EN54 certified devices in order to ensure that people can be evacuated quickly and safely in possible risky situations.
A project was designed to check the processes within the entire facility and make sure that there are no blind spots outside the facility’s parcel of land within the scope of the CCTV System, and high-resolution cameras were preferred for special areas. A license plate recognition system was installed in order to prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering and exiting from the facility and to check the parking lots.
Integration was achieved between the access control security system and the CCTV in order to prevent unauthorized access through the emergency exit doors and to verify potential alarms quickly and easily.
Alarms and breakdowns that may occur in the fire alarm system of the facility can be tracked on a point-by-point basis on the horizontal plans by using the ATS 8600 Graphic Monitoring Software.
