Akınal Sentetik Tekstil San. Ve Tic. A.Ş (Asnonwovens) was founded in Gaziantep in 1999. With its over 1000 employees, Akınal Sentetik operates in a 200.000 sqm indoor area on 450.000 sqm of land, with all its head office and production facilities in Gaziantep.
EEC created a Fire Detection and Alarm System solution in the Akınal Sentetik Textile Factory project. The Edwards EST3 Interactive Fire Detection Systems, SecuriRAS ASD Active aspirating smoke detectors and the OSID (Open-Area Smoke Imaging Detection) products developed by Xtralis Company were chosen.
There are 10 Edwards EST3 Interactive Fire Detection and Control Panels installed in different blocks within the facility. The Fire Alarm Control Panels operate with each other in a Peer-To-Peer Network.
The Edwards EST3 Fire alarm system has the characteristics to respond at the highest level. It demonstrates continuous improvement in terms of function and capacity, and can respond to the changing needs.
A system design was applied in accordance with the EN54 standards by taking all requirements of the facility and the conditions arising from the process into consideration. Equipment such as 800 Signature Series detectors, 300 Signature Series call-points and 370 Signature Series monitoring and control modules were used in the field.
Special types of smoke detection detectors were used in the high ceiling areas that have tough environmental conditions and access difficulties. They were also supported by 102 SecuriRAS ASD Active Aspirating Smoke detectors and Xtralis OSID Beam type smoke detectors.
Within the facility, 280 flasher sirens were used in the areas that have normal ambient sound levels, and 80 high-decibel (120 db) flasher sirens with high sound levels were used in the areas that have high ambient sound levels.
