Abdi Ibrahim is the pioneer of the era with its new advanced technology plant, which was designed by Dante Benini who is considered as doyen of industrial buildings and pharmaceutical production plants, and which started operations in Esenyurt, Istanbul in 2000. The plant, which was established on an area of 87000 m2 with an investment of 100 million dollars by using the world's state-of-the-art production technologies, is shown as a model plant worldwide with its capacity reaching 350 million boxes per year with a 2-shift working method. All production equipment used in the plant have state-of-the-art technology and Abdi Ibrahim produces high quality pharmaceuticals with this plant by using modern and environment friendly technologies.
EEC has developed a Fire Alarm System solution in Abdi Ibrahim Pharmaceutical Plant project. It has used the UTC Edwards products, which are unique in the industry with advanced control and communication technologies, smart detection features and unique survivability features, in the fire alarm system.
It has designed the system complying with the EN54 standards, completed the commissioning works and performed the user training and system delivery. It ensures that the system functions with the precision of the first day by performing the maintenance works complying with the EN54 standards with its technical service staff.
There are available UTC Edwards Fire Alarm Control Panels that function as a peer-to-peer network in different buildings within the same premises. There are Signature Series detectors connected to these panels. The Signature Series detectors by UTC Edwards system, which also have the ability to function with an unshielded cable, process the information received from one, two or three sensors in the time dimension through their own microprocessors and compare them with the fire algorithms obtained as a result of prolonged tests and loaded into their memory and decide whether there is a fire or not by themselves.
The Fire Alarm System also includes a monitoring and control module that monitors the extinguishing system equipment, provides mechanical device control used in smoke evacuation, and controls other systems as required by the fire scenario.
The VESDA Active Air Drawn Smoke Detectors and Beam Type Smoke Detectors have been used at the points where smoke detection with point type detectors has been difficult and the results have remained insufficient.
The FireWorks Graphical Monitoring/Control Software by UTC Edwards, which has been specially designed for the project, monitors and controls all fire alarm system equipment processed on the CAD plans of the building. With this software, the resilience of detailed examination on the architectural plans as well as the opportunity of quick response to the incident in the case of any potential alarm is assured.
