The engineering, materials procurement and commissioning services for the Fire Detection and Alarm, Access Control and Security, IP CCTV and Video Control Systems at the Sheraton Istanbul Ataşehir Hotel Project, which has features far above the five-star standards, were undertaken by EEC. The Fire Alarm, Access Control and CCTV systems installed by us were selected among the UTC Fire and Security products. System design and material selections were made in accordance with EN54 standards.
Within the scope of the integration projects implemented at the Sheraton Istanbul Ataşehir, there is a Graphic Monitoring Computer and FireWorks Graphic Monitoring Software installed in the security room for the monitoring and control of the Edwards fire alarm system. Thanks to this software, all devices monitored and controlled by the fire alarm system can be viewed graphically on the architectural plans, and in case of possible alarm situations, it is possible to quickly access the architectural plans of the relevant parts and conduct detailed reviews of the plans. Likewise, the full integration of the UTC Truvision CCTV and UTC ATS Master card access systems that were selected among the UTC products was ensured by the Advisor Management Software. For example, it is possible for the CCTV system to generate automatic visual alarms when an unauthorized card is used.
The fire alarm system consists of around 1200 addressable detectors, call-points, modules and the control panel that controls them. In addition to the fire alarm system, the detectors that detect gas and carbon monoxide leaks, fire stairs and doors are also monitored by the fire alarm system.
As prescribed by the Turkish Fire Protection Regulation and international codes of practice, the emergency management of the smoke control system is ensured with the control of air handling units, fire dampers, smoke removal fans and stair pressure fans, which are part of the ventilation system, and the smoke in the fire area is evacuated from the building without spreading to the other safe areas.
The status of the flow switches, line shut-off valves and pumps in the water extinguishing system is continuously monitored with the UTC EDWARDS Signature Series’ single and two-channel contact monitoring modules, inspecting whether the system is smooth and ready to operate before a real fire occurs, while the operation of the water extinguishing system in case of emergency is monitored.
The controls such as calling the elevators to the ground floor in case of fire and directing the elevators to another floor if there is a fire on the ground floor are also executed automatically by the Signature Series control modules within the scope of integration with the relevant systems.
The Access Control and Security System consists of 85 card readers and several fingerprint readers. There are plenty of card access points equipped with reader units within the building, and the reader units available at these points prevent unauthorized access to areas and rooms.
Over 170 IP cameras that are connected to the CCTV system monitor the building common areas, entry and exit routes, elevator and perimeter security, and the critical locations such as fire escapes in order to ensure the security of the hotel and its customers.
