Lazzoni has been continuing its journey for generations that started in Arhavi in 1897 with the master wooden house builder Hasan Usta and extended to New York. In 1960, the foundations of professional furniture production were laid under the name "Bulut Mutfak". In 2000, the "Lazzoni" brand was born with inspiration from the phrase "Lazzeroçkimi made by Laz" and the name of the world-renowned designer Roberto Lazzeroni. The brand has 34 domestic and overseas stores, with the number of stores constantly increasing in line with its strategies.
The three-story Lazzoni Factory operating in Ankara since 2005 has a 60.000 sqm indoor area, and continues its production operations with a team of 500 specialists. EEC was chosen to cooperate for the installation of the factory's in-panel fire extinguishing systems.
We began cooperating with you for our in-panel fire extinguishing system. We initially had hesitations. We were familiar with the EEC brand, but had never worked with them in the past. Installation could be easily made, but more importantly, what would the after-sales support process be like? We first reviewed the references and customer relationships of EEC. Their well-established and strong company profile had a significant impact on our choice. We participated in one of your training sessions in Ankara last year. It was a valuable and very useful event in terms of exchange of knowledge and experience.
The EEC team is very helpful during and after the sales process. Installation was started after the end of the shift without disrupting our production operations. We have witnessed its technical benefits. For example, we asked: "We want to check the system on a monthly basis. How can we make sure if it is operating or not?". We wanted to provide training to our team and ensure regular checks. The EEC team was very helpful. We are now able to perform our own tests. In case of any issues, the team provides remote support. We have always had positive experience throughout the process, and EEC has eliminated all of our hesitations. We are highly satisfied with the system, and we have now additional panels. We will further expand the system.
Unfortunately, we had two near-misses. One occurred at night, and we were not at the factory at that time. The system activated immediately and prevented the risk. The other occurred during production operations in the daytime, and the system prevented it again, and we made an intervention by cutting off the power. However, nobody was at the factory during the nighttime incident. The fire could have further spread before our security personnel noticed it. In the morning, we witnessed that it was a minor damage. We tested the operation and reliability of the system on our critical panels. We witnessed that it activates quickly and makes an intervention before it further spreads. Then, we decided to install it on our auxiliary panels. Risk always exists, and we strive to take measures and minimize it.
I consider device quality, system reliability, spare parts availability, and most importantly, technical support very useful. The purpose of the product is to ensure fast and efficient extinguishing, and ease of application of the system is also crucial. Both installation and detection are fast. It proved its rapid detection capabilities and efficiency by preventing a nighttime hazard from turning into a disaster.
You have a solution-focused team. They understood our needs acrruately and helped us select the right products. We prioritize communication and transparency. When I need to contact your sales team, I can do it easily and receive response quickly. Sometimes I get back to them late. Your technical support team is also very fast and solution-focused. Your team has never left us in doubts, and we maintain a trust-based relationship. We did not have any issues so far, and we are highly satisfied with your team. We first test such investments in a small area and then expand them in the course of time. Following positive results, we have included our in-panel extinguishing system into our investment plan. We started to use this system on our critical panels and will also implement it on our auxiliary panels. We have not scheduled it yet. As we expand the system, our cooperation partner will surely be EEC. We will have to consider alternatives as part of our purchasing procedures. Your sales team is already providing us with the necessary support regarding quotations. We are planning to strengthen our cooperation by requesting a quote for both expansion of the in-panel extinguishing system and our new project i.e. detection & extinguishing system.
Our facility is classified as hazardous, and we have many high-risk sections. We need peace of mind. After installing the in-panel extinguishing system, we are now able to lower the risk classification for our panels, because we have a security measure in place. We know that the system is operating reliably, and if a dangerous situation occurred, we would handle it without any problems.
We also conduct thermal camera analyses. We check all our panels monthly. However, we know that loosening and short circuits in panels may cause sudden dangers very quickly. The more we can minimize these risks, the better it will be for us. Unfortunately, we have seen tragic examples where a small spark may destroy a large factory. For this reason, measures must be taken.
We are building a 10.000 sqm fire-resistant wall between the sections of our factory, and more than half of it has been completed. We are building escape halls and five additional fire escapes. We have moved our hazardous wastes area and chemical storage to a new location because we are committed to ensuring a safe working environment for our 500 employees at our facility. We have initiated necessary works after consulting with relevant specialists. We do not do this for the sake of insurance or inspections. Our priority in fire safety investments is safety of life.
Detection and extinguishing systems are passive systems. We may need them this year or even years from now on. We must have systems that we can make sure they will be activated immediately. Lazzoni has its own stores, construction sites and a hotel. I directly recommend you for the system needs of our other facilities.
