Bellona is one of the companies belonging to Erciyes Anadolu Holding, and it operates in the furniture industry. Bellona started production in Kayseri in 1996, and it has continuously grown through investments and currently continues to produce with over 2,500 employees in a total area of 350,000 m2.
Bellona, with factories growing bigger across the years and in accordance with changing needs, has chosen to work with EEC to update its fire detection and alarm systems. EEC provides maintenance services for Edwards and Siemens Fire Detection Systems that are installed in Bellona Factories.
EEC Entegre Bina Kontrol Sistemleri has installed the FirePro In-Panel Aerosol Suppression and Aerosol Area Suppression Systems at Bellona’s facilities in order to reduce fire risks. The engineering, material procurement, and commissioning services of the systems were completed by EEC step by step over 1 year.
The fire safety at Bellona’s facilities has been updated through retrofitting. The necessary improvements have been made to the fire detection system, which was installed in the facilities years ago. The system has been upgraded to a more recent version through updates.
The management had difficulty managing its processes on the fire detection system because of the entrances to the campus area from different security points and operational changes. In order to avoid such difficulties and to make the system more efficient, repeater panels were installed to allow monitoring and control of all elements of the system from multiple points. A graphics monitoring software was also installed to facilitate the operational processes for the management.
There was heavy smoke generated by the welding operations at the metal processing area of production. In order to prevent false alarms, improvements have been made to the fire detection system to avoid it getting affected by the heavy welding smoke in the environment
In the battery charging area, Apollo Smoke Detectors with current limiting products have been integrated as a precaution against possible explosion risks instead of the fire detection system detectors.
In-Panel Aerosol Suppression Systems have been installed in the electrical distribution panels of Bellona’s facilities named 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Aerosol Suppression Systems have been presented as a highly effective solution in terms of early precautions and application without the need for human intervention in these areas where the possibility of fire is usually present.
Aerosol Area Suppression Systems have been installed in transformer rooms, OG panel rooms and AG panel rooms in all of Bellona’s facilities. Aerosol suppression systems, which are certified by international institutions and organizations such as LPCB, UL, BSI and KIWA, and can be connected in series as single or multiple, provide protection from the smallest panel to the largest areas. Thanks to its non-toxic content, it is also preferred in areas where people are present. Moreover, these suppression systems are able to be monitored through the fire detection system.
