To Whom Do You Entrust Your Life and Systems of Millions of Lira During Emergency Cases?

We necessarily perform small or large-scale risk analyses in every new facility we visit as required by our business. Unfortunately, in some of the facilities we visit, security officers do not know what to do at the time of any incident. In general, when an incident occurs, they find it sufficient to inform their supervisors by phone and to follow their directions.

Why is PSIM Important?

However, separate operation plans should be developed for each incident such as fire, earthquake, theft, accident etc. These guidelines are technically available in almost all facilities. However, with the transfer of physical security personnel to subcontracted companies over time, the quality of the execution of these guidelines increased in certain facilities and decreased in certain facilities because there is a very large-scale personnel circulation in such companies. Sometimes, the personnel in charge changes i every day and both the personnel who are not sufficiently familiar with the facility and the personnel who do not fully know the instructions cannot protect our lives and systems costing millions of lira. In certain facilities, reams of regulations have been prepared; however, both the correct parts of them cannot be read due to excitement in case of emergency, and they are removed to the drawers over time and disappear in a way that cannot be reached at the time of the incident.

I do not consider it appropriate to give such great responsibilities to these people to whom we have entrusted our lives and property. We should prefer the PSIM software to allow them to do their job properly and easily in their works that are difficult enough.

Incident Management — Areas where PSIM is applied

Physical security information management (PSIM) has been increasingly more important within the recent years. The PSIMs have advantages and disadvantages, but they provide support to the operator at unique quality in the incident management. PSIM software evaluates alarms received from all sources and displays the appropriate directions. It expects complete obedience from the operator. The operator sees an instruction that is suitable for the type of the incident on the screen. The operator has to fulfill the lines one by one and respond to the incident very quickly by confirming the processes and entering the notes. The distinctive advantage of the PSIMs is the integration of all necessary systems into the PSIM common interface. In an ideal system, the operator can simultaneously view information from an interactive video wall or from multiple security systems on the client computer. The combined information in the PSIM software is much faster than looking at systems individually and provides great situational awareness.
